Changing the Channel does not allow you to equip mods for that Channel – a Firearm that deals Arc damage still has to use Firearm mods. Mods from the Explosives tree probably can’t be put on Firearms, and the same flipped.Ĭonversion Mods exist for most of the groups to change the Channel of the damage that they are dealing. Mods that you research are generally limited not by a damage Channel, but by Weapon Group. Its damage type is thermal, but it cannot accept mods from the Laser tech tree. There are some Weapon Groups that don’t currently have a tech line. Examples of this are Dazzler Systems and Arc Retaliation Defense. Some Weapon Group mods are able to be equipped on anything, as specified in their descriptions. Some abilities won’t have a type this is fine, it just means that they won’t be able to equip any mods. You can’t equip Firearms mods on Explosive weapons, even though they share a damage channel.Ī weapon’s group will be specified in the bottom of its description: The operations are usually themed around the weapon group’s concept, while the mods are designed to go on weapons of that group – NOT on weapons matching the channel. As a general rule, if the ability is identified as being of that Weapon Group (see image below), then you can equip mods to it. The last 2 weapon groups are a bit inconsistent in their naming. I find the organization of the archives to be spotty at best pages are named inconsistently, there aren’t links where there should be, some of the organizational categorizations are strangely chosen, there’s flat out incorrect information in places, and oftentimes the linked pages repeat information that the page you just came from already had. There’s a page in here for many concepts in the game. There’s a button in the top right corner of your screen, looks like a book with a question mark on it, which will open the archives.
